PHOTO GALLERY This is a selection of images from the hundreds I have taken over the years. My father started my interest in photography. In the days of black and white, he earned a living as a part-time wedding photographer. I would help with the developing and printing of the contact sheets and proofs. He always tried to get these done quickly so he could take them back to the wedding reception. Everyone would feel obliged to purchase several photographs, generating more sales than by just sending the proofs to the Bride and Groom after their honeymoon. Once he was asked to photograph a nudist wedding. On that occasion I was not allowed to help in the darkroom (the temporally commandeered bathroom). I did experiment quite a lot with different papers and exposure techniques. On the trivia page is a self-portrait contact print taken with a home-made pinhole camera and a piece of 120 film. The images below are all favourites of mine either because of the imagery or as a captured memory of a wonderful holiday destination. There are separate pages with a small selection of abstract subjects and holiday snaps. Click on an image to see a larger view in a separate window. All the image files are in JPG format and less than 80k so they will not take too long to load. |
